Haberman chosen as agency of record for 2026 Special Olympics USA Games

June 2023

As a full-service marketing communications agency known for our 25-plus-year history of modern storytelling, Haberman has been selected as the agency of record for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.

Taking place from June 20–26, 2026, in venues at the University of Minnesota and other premier locations across the Twin Cities, the event will showcase the ability of over 4,000 incredible athletes from all 50 states.

Haberman, a national leader in cause marketing for nearly three decades, has played a pivotal role in the creation, management, and promotion of numerous transformative experiences and campaigns throughout the United States. Notably, the agency developed and executed programs for the Volvo for life Awards and the Bancroft Arnesen Antarctica Expedition. Haberman also conceptualized and brought to life the world’s largest outdoor hockey event, The U.S. Pond Hockey Championships, an annual Minneapolis tradition.

“In 1991, I had the privilege of volunteering for the Special Olympics World Games in the Twin Cities, and it remains one of the most inspiring weeks of my life,” said Fred Haberman, co-founder and CEO of Haberman. “That was one of the experiences that inspired us to establish an agency with one clear mission: to tell the stories of pioneers making a difference in the world. Today, we are honored to support Special Olympics once again, and our passion, coupled with our extensive experience in cause marketing, have prepared us to deliver the best communications and marketing experience ever for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. We’re proud to be part of the Inclusion Revolution.”

Working closely with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Haberman will develop a brand storytelling platform and strategic communications plan with publicity and outreach initiatives steadily intensifying as the event draws nearer. The partnership already kicked off in April with the official unveiling of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games “circle of inclusion” logo, at a packed celebratory ceremony held at Mall of America, Bloomington, Minn.

“Haberman emerged as the clear choice amidst a highly competitive bidding process, impressing us with their exceptional credentials, expertise, and visionary approach,” said Christy Sovereign, CEO, 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. “Their unmatched passion resonated with every member of our team, demonstrating their dedication to advancing our mission of inclusion and engaging individuals to rally behind the USA Games.”
